Ilford Washi paperIlford Washi paper is handmade Japanese art paper. As it is handmade it is almost exclusively available in sheet format.
Washi paper or Tesuki-Washi as Ilford calls it built on a 1000 year old tradition from Japan.
The paper is typically made from fibers of "Kozo", "Mitsumata" and "Gampi" plants and is used for letter writing and books, but also for making paper screens, room dividers and sliding doors in Japan.
You can also get Washi paper with "Deckle Edge" like here these torn edges. This is by far the best selling type as the ripped edges perfectly match the look and feel of the paper.
With "Deckle Edge" you get the authentic look for your prints.
Ilford Washi paper is along category of the other well-known paper type Awagami.
